Ok, first let me just ask a honest question? Did you guys even notice I was gone for all of the summer? Or was it just me who felt bummed out for completely abandoning my blog. *insert ugly sobbing here*
It get’s worse.
I haven’t read a single book. Since the 2nd of August. I had started that book in May.
RIGHT?! Me too, Jen. Me too.
I DON’T WHAT HAPPENED. Should I make this apology worse by blaming it on GIGANTIC reading slump? Can reading slumps even last that long? A WHOLE SEASON?
But the break was needed. Really.
Yeah, sure maybe not a whole season. But now I’m back on my feet and on the roll, and cherish reading more than I have for a very long time. I felt like I had just woken up to find that I’m best friends with Jennifer Lawrence. It’s that crazy. Rather than looking at my TBR pile with my overworked and tired eyes, I NOW LOOK AT THEM LIIIIIKE
I drooooool over them…
And guess who decided to pick the hella hyped Throne of Glass?
Ah, yeah that would be me
Just. Ugh. WELL DESERVED HYPE IS ALL I CAN SAY. WELL DESERVED HYPE.
SO, WHAT’S THE LONGEST TIME YOU HAVEN’T PICKED UP A BOOK? WHAT DID YOU READ THIS SUMMER THAT YOU’D WANT TO RECOMMEND? IGNORING THE FACT I HAVE OVER 80+ BOOKS IN MY TBR, BUT WHATEVERRR. I’M STILL OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS 🙂 Happy reading!
Ok, so I’ve been in the biggest reading slump and ditched everything book related – blogging, goodreads etc. Ughhh send help!
I went to Foyles yesterday planning to only buy Ready Player One after giving in to the hype surrounding it but I ended up leaving with two more books with ACOTAR signed so that’s exciting🎉
Let me know which one you think I should read asap😌❤️
Hey guys, massive sorry for the lack of post. I don’t know what happened to me, I’d gotten into another reading slump which affected my care for blogging. But I’m back, and I’ve finished 2 excellent books. Reviews will be up soon!
And guys, I’m finally back on Instagram! Follow me on ‘ManyReads’ or just leave your username below 😀
Thursday Quotables is a meme, created by the lovely Bookshelf Fantasies, where you share a favorite quote, line, or passage from your current read each week!
Passage from Melanie’s story:
‘And the beautiful woman hugged her to her mortal soul, and said, “You are my special girl. You will always be with me, and i will never let you go.”
And they lived together, for ever after, in great peace and prosperity.’
– The Girl With All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
Thursday Quotables is a meme, created by the lovely Bookshelf Fantasies, where you share a favorite quote, line, or passage from your current read each week! (I know it’s no longer Thursday, but i completely forgot to post this yesterday! I’ve only just found it waiting in my drafts haha)
God gives us ugliness so we don’t take the beautiful things in life for granted.
– Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
You guys are amaaaaazing and I’ve wanting to post this for so longggg.
On Monday i reached 100 followers!! Cue the fireworks…
Monday was also exactly a month after i started this blog haha, how awesomeee is that?! So this is crazy and i feel like i owe you guys an essay long paragraph telling you how grateful i feel but Dan over there reflects exactly how i feel more accurately 🙂
I’m hoping to write up my review of The Infinite Sea today – God, that book was so good. I’ve also started Ugly Love and omg. Yes, i’ve never read any Colleen Hoover books. Yes, i strongly regret not getting to them sooner. Yes, i get what the hype is about. Yes, i will probably stay up tonight trying to finish Ugly Love.
So Kass Morgan (author of The Hundred) just accepted my friend request on goodreads…
We’re basically best friends now.
Who knows, Kass Morgan might of even stalked my account a bit.
I’ll be appearing on her updates page, she might catch a book she likes that we’ve both read. We’d discuss what we loved then the conversation will shift to how beautiful Bellamy is and how she might consider writing more books just so she could use my name for the bad-ass heroine that has her own Bellamy in a new trilogy called All About Hadjar and Bellamy’s Happily Ever After. (Can this actually happen please)
Another author that i’m friends with is the incredible Jandy Nelson (life goals achieved).
Are you friends with any authors on goodreads or maybe they follow you through instagram or twitter? Let me know in the comments 🙂 I’ve had fun playing around with gifs. Do you guys think i should continue using them? I know some people are put off by the use of gifs.
I wish you guys a great weekend filled with books, Happy Reading!
